My Review
Thoughts on the book: I recieved a surprise ARC copy of Windfall from Pan Macmillan and have since recieved the finished copy which is just gorgeous.  It tells the story of Best friends Alice and Teddy best friends forever although Alice has secretly always had a crush on Teddy. For his 18th birthday Alice buys Teddy a lottery ticket as a small gag present. But little do they know that the ticket will end up being a winning ticket and set their lives on a collision course filled with love, laughter and misery.

Windfall was another book that I read when I was quite sick and it cheered me up immensely.  I loved the plot line of the book with the idea of a happy go lucky, but barely getting by boy winning the jackpot on a lottery ticket that he recieved from his best friend who has secretly had a crush on him most of her life. It's almost everyone's dream to somehow miraculously win the lotto and never have to worry about anything again. This is exactly what happens to Teddy. He finally has all the money he could have ever wanted and of course being the selfless person that he is he even offers to give a large share to Alice but she won't have any of it. I can certainly see where both characters are coming from in the book and I think a lot of people will be able to identify with both characters as well. I know I certainly would be like Teddy and go out and buy all of the things that I had always wanted and want to splash some of the cash around. But I don't know that I would be as strong as Alice was about not accepting the money that Teddy offered her. It certainly is a lot and would be most welcome right here.

Both characters also grow very much throughout the book. Alice learns a lot about her past and her present and starts to reacess if this is really where she wants to be in life and of course Teddy has the biggest life overhaul of all. He does learn a lot about how money changes people and unfortunately as some stages he does become that obnoxious person but luckily he comes out of it. The innocent way their relationship changes was also really exciting to see and I am so happy with how things turned out.

Everyone pick up Windfall if you want a fantastically written feel good story that will have you constantly laughing with its quick wit and amazing adventures, I mean come on dumpster diving for a winning ticket.
