My review
Thoughts on the book:
Welcome to Jessica's Bookworld's stop on the Moon Chosen blog tour being held by Pan Macmillan Australia.

I read P.C. Cast's House of Night series while I was pregnant with my second child. I was put on bed rest so naturally went out and brought a heap of books to read. One of those books was Book 1 in the House of Night series and I remember reading book 1 in one sitting and begging my fiancée at the time to go out and get me the rest of the series that was out. I remember patiently waiting for each new book to be released and devouring them all as soon as I got my hands on them. So you can imagine my excitement when I was asked to not only be apart of the blog tour for P.C. Cast's new book but also receive a ARC of the book and read it brfore most of the world. It was such a privallige and I know I made many of my friends and sisters jealous as well.

Moon Chosen is the first book in P.C. Cast's new Tales of a New World trilogy. It tells the story of three tribes who all live seperately and lead very different lives. There is the sun tribe who worship the sun and have shepherds or canines that bond with them, there is the moon tribe who worships the moon and then there are the skin stealers, who steal the skin of others. Each tribes part in the book is told by a voice from their tribe, Nik for the Sun tribe, Mari for the Moon tribe and Dead Eye for the skin stealers.

In this first book of the series we are really getting to know each of the tribes and how they each work so there isn't really too much happening or much interacting but I found the insight into each tribe interesting. Although at the start of the book I was very confused as to what was happening as it felt like I was being introduced to everyone so quickly, I soon learned after about a quarter of the way through what was what and really starting enjoying the story. I really thought the concept of the bond between the companions and their canines or shepherds was very special and loved how each was chosen by the dog and not the person. I think all of the main characters are very stron characters and I can't wait to see where each of them goes in the rest of the series.

Don't let the size of the book, nor the 600 pages put you off reading Moon Chosen.

Rating: 3.5/5

Q&A with P.C. Cast
1.       Describe Moon Chosen in one sentence.
PC:  A post-apocalyptic adventure with heart and dogs – lots of dogs!
2.       What are you reading at the moment?
PC: I’m rereading the House of Night!  Kristin and I are planning a 10th anniversary surprise for our fans next year, and that means I have to get my head back into the HoN world.  I’ve started way back at the beginning, and I’m really enjoying revisiting the Nerd Herd!
3.       If you could choose to have one book character from any of your series live with you in our world, which character would you choose?
PC:  ClanFintan from DIVINE BY MISTAKE.  I’m completely in love with him.
