Blog Tour: Who's Afraid? By Maria Lewis

Hey everyone today is my stop on the Who's Afraid? by Maria Lewis tour thanks to Hatchette Australia for organising it and allowing me to be a part of it.

Who's Afraid?
Author: Maria Lewis
Publisher: Hatchette Australia
Pages: 340 pages
Meet Tommi Grayson: she's all bark... and all bite.
'It was like my wolf had been there all along, waiting for me to tap its hand and step into the ring...'

Tommi Grayson's never exactly been a normal girl. Bright blue hair, a mysterious past and barely controlled rage issues have a way of making a woman stand out. Yet she's never come close to guessing who she really is...

When her mother dies, a shattered Tommi decides to track down her estranged father. Leaving Scotland for a remote corner of New Zealand, she discovers the truth of her heritage- and it's a whole lot more than merely human.

Barely escaping with her life, now Tommi must return to her friends, pretending everything is normal, while all too aware of the dangers lurking outside- and within. Worse still, something has followed her home...

With the clock ticking, can Tommi learn to control her new powers in time to save the ones she loves?

My Review
Thoughts on the book: I was thrilled when Hatchette asked me if I would like to be apart of the blog tour for the debut novel Who's Afraid by Maria Lewis as it normally a genre I tend to read a lot of but I thought it's coming up to a new year I want to read some different things to expand my TBR pile. I was even more excited when I received my parcel with the book from Hatchette to discover that it was a bound final copy which I have never had before since I have started reviewing. And you know what it added to the overall greatness of this book.  I must admit that it took me awhile before I actually picked it up and started reading it as we had my husband's birthday, then christmas and then New Year's. But at the start of this month my husband was admitted to hospital with severe abdominal pains and I finally pulled out my copy of Who's Afraid and began reading it. And of course once I started I couldn't stop. This book got me through a really hard time and I was laughing my head off at some parts and my husband,  the other patients and nurses would look at me weird but I would be straight back reading it like nothing had happened.

Who's Afraid? is a really fantastically written debut novel from Maria Lewis which features the paranormal world throughout the storyline, with our main focus being on werewolves. But they best part is that the whole story isn't just about werewolves, there is love, loss, friendship, truths and so much more. Our main character in the book is a strong female by the name of Tommi. She certainly isn't your normal main character but that is what makes her such a great lead role. She is strong and becomes stronger throughout the book, deals with things as they are thrown at her and learns to adapt fairly quickly to adapt to new circumstances i think a lot of people who read this will look up to her and want to be like Tommi. Here is a little info on her:

Another thing that I love about the book is the relationship that develops between Tommi and her guardian Lorcan. You can practically tell from the start that they are basically made for each other but like all couples like that they fight the attraction every chance they get until they don't. Then suddenly something will come to light that properly should have already been spoken about and they are back to being friends. I think for half of the book I was shouting at them to get there act together.

I will admit that I didn't really like the ending. I was really getting into the story and turned the page and was reading the page and went to move onto the next one and it was the Acknowledgement page. Well I nearly threw the book across the room I was that angry. How can an author leave their readers hanging like that? I really hope that Maria writes more about Tommi because if she doesn't I'm going to be devastated.
